You can start walking from the car and leave again. But not lush for mid-February. Peaks and ridges often blown away.
Snow quality
We opted for firn, which worked out quite well. It would have been even better if we hadn't extended the summit rest so much. Very changeable in the forest and mountain pine belt due to small-scale differences in exposure.
Risks
Fairly relaxed. Spring situation, but not yet a very pronounced diurnal cycle.
Overall impression
I'm not really ready for the conditions yet (especially after the Videos of the Week reminded me of the pictures of the exceptional January in the Black Forest).
On the other hand, it was a day with dream weather, a good crew and a passable descent.
