There have been large amounts of fresh snow over the past few days. However, the snowfall was accompanied by some massive gusts. This is directly reflected in the view. Everything that wasn't solidified was carried away by the wind, and the piste was nice and powdery, but in places there was bare ice, and next to the piste there were mostly icy slabs on which large amounts of drift snow had accumulated depending on the exposure.

Snow quality

Piste: Powder where it has not faded; in the terrain: faded fresh snow that has piled up in drift snow packages to dangerous amounts.

Risks

Due to the storm during the snowfall, dangerous amounts of snow were transported. These form larger packets of drift snow, some of which have already broken off, so where it is not blown and icy, there is still danger from drift snow or still open or only partially covered crevasses!

Overall impression

2 von 5 Sterne

The glacier was very crowded. Even with people you wouldn't expect at this time of year. Accordingly, there was chaos with ice slabs and queues in front of the lift.

There have been more pleasant days on the glacier. Vacations combined with good weather, you can't really complain about that!

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
