Skitour in den Brennerbergen
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Deep layers very good, forest rideable down to the bottom. Deductions are made for the sometimes very blown-off areas further up.
Snow quality
Better than expected. We were only on the north side. Relatively heavy powder below the tree line. At the very bottom, there was minimal snow cover, which was so thin that it didn't bother us. Above the tree line and at the edge of the forest, it was much more changeable due to the wind and sometimes not pleasant to ski. Depending on the wind exposure, blown off, wind gnawing or varying degrees of wind cover.
Risks
According to the LLB, 3 above 2000 due to drift snow, 2 below. Some relatively fresh-looking glacier snow avalanches spotted in the area, as well as a fairly large snow slab in a steep face, which may have spontaneously fallen yesterday or the day before.
Overall impression
Nice morning walk, great weather and snow better than expected.
