Snow condition

on the mountain certainly 60-70cm of snow in the valley less and in steeper terrain also stone contact due to lack of foundation and further down in the forest also rather scarce, but up in the forest already good.

Snow quality

super fluffy powder, unfortunately without a base. That's enough on gentle slopes, but not always on steep ones.

tricky, tricky, tricky. Yesterday many avalanches were triggered (presumably with a small additional load). As all the slabs were slightly over-snowed, I assume that they came yesterday. On the north side partly on the meadow, partly on old snow and up to 80cm in the crack. Today, too, the white splendor was to be enjoyed with absolute caution and better below 30° than below 35°. Even where a 3 was issued.

Overall impression

I finally got snow and after a second Covid infection and the end of quarantine, every step in freedom is worth its weight in gold. And just by the way: I have neither private contacts nor professional contacts and yet I still got caught. But even without confinement, today was certainly a good day for many people. At the moment, the typical "Arlberg crowd" is hanging around (with enough distance) with typical WE walkers in the same regions. Many are making their first attempts with the splitboard. For them, the ascent is a challenge. One or two skiers get the impression that this is the first time in their lives that they are not skiing down a groomed slope. So the lockdown gives some people completely new experiences...
