Neuschnee, zapfige Temperaturen = Winter?
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Significantly improved. There was an average of around 30 cm to 40 cm of fresh snow on the glacier. The amount of fresh snow is difficult to estimate due to the strong wind, today from the west/southwest. Some places around 20 cm and others around 1 m. Most of the crevasses on the glacier are now covered in snow. In the valley, the snow conditions are still below average. 3 stars at the top and one star at the bottom, making a total of 2 stars.
Snow quality
Surprisingly good despite the strong wind! The cold powder was very easy to ski. When riding in reasonably sheltered terrain, you hardly noticed the influence of the wind. However, in wind corridors, the cold powder was completely blown away. The choice of route is crucial for good snow.
Risks
Not relaxed! The wind is blowing the cold fresh snow massively. The different layers of fresh snow and the snow flags alone (as long as you could still see anything) should have been a warning sign. On the ascent and descent, we occasionally encountered very dull snow. Especially steep leeward slopes and leeward gullies should be judged very critically.
Overall impression
Weather day! Cold fresh snow and wintry temperatures, winter has arrived. Unfortunately, the visibility was quite diffuse and the wind was getting stronger, which led to an early return.

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
