Skitour im Griesner Kar - Kaiser
Snow condition

Overall impression
Snow condition
You have to carry it to the end of the beech forest. Then it goes in the gully on the right a bit and then you have to unbuckle again for a few meters. This section will soon become longer. After that, the snow conditions are good for the time of year.
Snow quality
Started without expectations given the weather forecast. Relatively soft at the bottom but no swamp, which surprised me. Got harder and harder as it went on. At the top in the cirques it was really icy and hard. The old tracks are frozen hard and big hard snow bumps spoil the fun. From early noon it started to snow like a shower. But it takes a lot to cover the old deep tracks.
Risks
Relaxed in the morning. You can't find anything to release yourself. Warm and humid up to the top and last night it froze through very well. But it's different when it gets warm or precipitation sets in as rain, like today at lower altitudes. There is still a lot of fresh snow from the last few days in the rocks. Today it rained down to the lower snow bands and then the whole thing becomes very critical very quickly. I've already mentioned it a few times here in the Cr during the tour. Timing is important here - start early and not at midday as is often the case. You can do that in summer, but it's not that far yet. Critical in wet conditions and when the rocks are not yet empty.
Overall impression
Have been outside but nothing more. If you don't mind carrying your skis for about 40 minutes, you can do something longer here. Eig 1 star tour but after the broken harsh was not dominant but epic hard ice I give it 2. And the grapefruit wheat beer is as always recommended
