Snow condition
First of all: there was already a CR from Sumedum yesterday (they recognized the board ;)). As described yesterday, below 1600m it's thin (1 star), above that there's quickly a decent layer in north/north-east expo. Combs and ridges white, but no carpet pad.
Snow quality
It didn't spray up quite as far as my colleague's, but 20-30cm of fluff remained despite settling. And that from the finest full throttle variant! Every turn was homogeneous without any bounce. That's how it should be!
Risks
Confirmation from my colleague here too. The drift snow theme also goes a little further down locally (approx. 2000m) or depending on the slope conditions. Watch out behind the edges of the terrain. We ventured a little further up and triggered a small cornice incl. pocket and crack formation in the entrance to the slope (see last picture).
Overall impression
One of the best days of the season! We were on the skis early and got a few extra meters. It was cold enough on the north side until midday to preserve the snow a bit! Untypically for this season, there's still a lot to come in the next few days (especially in the shade)!
Thanks to Sumedum - on JGA, the CR gave us a bit of motivation to get out of bed early anyway. It was really funny that we caught the same tour.
