der Winter kommt, wenn auch in kleinen Schritten
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
In the valley 30cm of fresh snow above. However, this is not enough for the many rocks.
Snow quality
super fluffy powder, which you can only use where there are unprepared pistes, unused pistes or glaciers underneath, although of course you have to know exactly where the crevasses are. There is not yet enough snow to safely cover the crevasses. Unfortunately, the foundation is still missing in rocky terrain.
Risks
Lots of loose snow avalanches from steep terrain and strong winds towards midday in the summit/ridge areas with the corresponding transportation. This makes the avalanche situation critical for tomorrow.
Overall impression
Winter is coming in small steps. The last time I was still mainly on the piste, but now I'm at least out in the powder, even if not as much as I'd hoped.
In the morning, it was still snowing and visibility was poor. But then great sunshine and glistening fresh snow. Unfortunately, the possibilities in the terrain are still limited by the snow conditions. There is simply not enough on the rugged rocks. Fortunately, there were very few training groups in the area, so that areas normally used as training slopes were now available for powder skiing. This made for a rewarding day. However, these opportunities were also "used up" quite quickly. Two big snowfalls have to come before you can really get into the terrain.
