Snow condition
On this tour, we noticed for the first time that there was a lack of snow. In the tour guide, the north-east ridge is super wide and completely white. The text says that it is often still open at the end of the season. We had to cheat our way through a lot of rocks. But at least we made it all the way down to the road.
Snow quality
A few centimeters of broken snow on an icy layer. We actually skied on the icy layer and didn't feel the broken snow. It was even, but nothing more. The more north-facing options were full of avalanches, otherwise they would probably still have been good. The last 200m were super firn
Risks
Many north-facing variants still look very dangerously laden with drift snow. Outside the northern sector, I think the sun and warming are the main factors to watch out for.
Overall impression
The snow was worse than we had hoped, but the weather was much better than forecast. The ascent was a dream with the panorama and the descent was at least a nice direct line. All in all a nice end to the time in Sogndal with three entertaining colleagues from Sweden DSLR is currently on strike, hopefully there will be downhill pictures later.
