I was able to ski today without constantly thinking about where there was enough snow and where I might hit a stone. There have been few days like this in the Allgäu so far. Mostly good at the top by now. At the bottom through the steep step in the forest, however, there is still very little snow. Followed a path through the forest on the descent. We carried about 200 m down there.

Predominantly powder, approx. 10-15 cm. Not extremely fluffy but very pleasant and even to ride. On the ascent, I briefly felt a layer of harsh snow and at the bottom it was damp this afternoon.

Risks

Beware of drift snow, both new and old over-snowed. A lot of things were done in the region today that I would currently find rather tricky (unfavorable exposures. 35 degrees and more and close to the ridge). But everything we saw went well. On the Hählekopf, a small, rather superficial board was triggered in a place with clearly recognizable drift snow. According to the track, however, the person was able to continue directly. The terrain there is actually not particularly steep.

Top day! As many things are not yet possible in the Allgäu, there are just a few tours on days like today.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
