Overall impression
Snow condition
Approx. 25 cm to 30 cm of fresh snow in the snow hole on the Hochkeil. The base is easily sufficient to ski the short forest lines in the north-west exposure without any problems. Up there, the base therefore fits in the north-west exposure. A look at the inner alpine grass mountains (where the main ski area is located) shows that the snow conditions there are visually worse.
Snow quality
Unfortunately, the fresh snow was already quite heavy in the morning (around 0°C at the start) and became even heavier as the day progressed and the sun came out. However, it was still quite easy to ski until midday and the fresh snow was also quite fast. Just 3 stars.
Risks
Not without! The terrain we were on is quite flat, but we still managed to trigger the odd snow slab (small, slow and didn't slide far) and the sluff that was created was just as heavy and very slow. I would strongly advise against steeper activities until the snow cover has settled. Shortly after midday, we were able to observe three ski tourers traversing a very long and steep traverse on the sunny south side in direct succession and skiing down together on the same terrain. At this point, some larger loose snow slides were already coming down from the steep south-facing terrain. Either the three of them had particularly big balls in the run-up to Easter or they weren't aware of the danger.
Overall impression
Not the best powder, but still good to ride until midday. Sitting in the sun afterwards isn't bad for the end of March.
