Snow condition

There is more snow in the upper part of the ski area than there has been all season. There is still enough snow for the variants up to the middle station. Despite the snowfall of the past few days, it's no longer possible to get down to the valley station. There's no getting around carrying skis.

Snow quality

3 von 5 Sterne

Good powder snow in the early morning, then getting heavier quite quickly, especially on sunny slopes. With a good choice of slope, however, lines could be skied in good snow until midday. Very good snow quality for this time of year. Unfortunately, it quickly deteriorates again due to the sunlight.

Risks

Saw some steep lines (Schaufelspitze Nord, gullies on the apery Pfaffengrat). I didn't see any snow slabs, but loose snow slides from steep sunny slopes. Nevertheless, you should watch out for drift snow, at least in the morning it's still relatively windy.

Overall impression

A very good day of skiing for May with a few nice lines in the off-piste terrain, but only really worthwhile until midday due to the daytime warm-up.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
