Snow report Upper Bavaria, 01/17/2017
Nachttour auf den Taubenstein am Spitzingsee. Hauptsächlich zusammengefahren, aber wo noch keiner war gabs sogar etwas Unterlage und feinsten Pulver.
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Up to 30 cm of base in open terrain, almost only fresh snow in the forest. Above that, up to 50 cm of fresh snow, but on average 20 cm of powder. No danger of stone contact, except near the ridge in blown terrain.
Snow quality
In untracked terrain, the best powder with grippier snow underneath, i.e. top conditions.
Risks
According to the warning service, relatively high due to drifting snow, but very low in the Taubenstein area due to the flat slopes and the heavy traffic on the slopes.
Overall impression
Super tour and great atmosphere when skiing down in the dark powder.
