Snow condition

Above the tree line, the wind has transported a lot of new snow. Ridges and ridges are virtually without snow cover. Before the snowfall, there was no base on the south-facing slopes up to the higher altitudes and at least another 50 cm is needed on the Arlberg to be able to ski properly in the terrain.

Snow quality

2 von 5 Sterne

The quality of the snow varied depending on the wind. Where it fell without wind, it was around 50cm and more of super light powder. With wind influence it was heavier.

Risks

Above the tree line, there was a fair amount of drifting. The drift snow deposits were mostly clearly visible. An avalanche was triggered on the Schindlergrat, see report in the LLB blog.

Overall impression

Those who know the terrain have an advantage. Super cruising through the powder on meadow slopes. Woe betide you if there are stones! As there was virtually no base, contact with the ground is often difficult to avoid.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!

Thank you for your contribution to the PowderGuide project!
