Ein 4 * Tag nach dem anderen
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Very good and a little more so than in the Kalkkögeln, where the tours are quite similar in character. My colleague took a core shot, I don't know how he did it. But it is apparently still possible. Protected from the wind on the north side, you can even see spines.
Snow quality
Slightly dry and fluffy. Great to ride. Slufft also quite nice, even more would of course be even better. But then you wouldn't be able to ride so steeply.
Risks
Very relaxed here and very favorable conditions. On the ridges you can already see that the old snow cover has been strongly influenced by the wind. But everything should be stable. We hardly saw any fresh drift snow, although we were in an area where the only wind vane in the whole of Tyrol was yellow. The fresh snow is very loose and can therefore be easily transported.
Overall impression
Currently the conditions are really very good and the snow conditions are often as good as they usually are at the end of March. We did the Freiungsturm Nord gully. At the abseiling point you won't find a good Köpfl, everything is completely snowed in. But you can bypass it on the left. You have to look for it briefly, it is a little hidden 5m above the abseil point and difficult to see from above.
