Kurze Mittagstour auf Tromsøs Hausberg Kjolen
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
It has been quite warm since Thursday evening (up to +4 °C). As a result, the snow turned to rain at midday on Friday and, in addition to brutally slippery roads, also caused quite a lot of snow to melt. Down in the forest, it's now getting tight in places (20-40cm). Further up everything is still good. Hopefully supplies will arrive soon, the base is still there.
Snow quality
Very modest. The bottom is frozen slush as hard as a rock, even above the tree line you can't make your turns without worrying because of the heavy fresh snow (approx. 15 cm).
Risks
Couldn't see any slides or similar. However, the Kjolen is also an extremely flat mountain. But the wind could have shifted a lot again in the last few days.
Overall impression
Well, after the rain yesterday I wasn't expecting much and it wasn't really great. Two stars, however, because the weather was perfect and the sun was definitely visible for a whole hour.
