Skitour in der Goldberggruppe: außer uns keiner unterwegs, guter Schnee und danach zufrieden in die Arbeit

Snow condition
We were heading north, northwest on our tour today. We started at approx. 1600 m. After an approx. 2.5 km long forest road on the plain, we were able to start on skis (sneakers are an advantage for this section). We were then able to ascend without any problems. As the weather warms up and the sun shines, we'll be adding a few more meters on foot in the near future. The snow cover was frozen and as the altitude increased, so did the layer of fresh snow. Around 10 cm at around 2600 m.
Snow quality
The thin layer of fresh snow / drift snow was very easy to ski. Unfortunately, there were some avalanche boulders in the final gully, but it was easy to ski around them. Only the last 50 m or so did not have a fresh layer and were still frozen hard (on the north side around 10 am). All in all, a good descent.
Risks
As the altitude increased, so did the wind and therefore the amount of drift snow. We changed the ascent track once, as an intermediate section was quite blown in. You should keep an eye on the drift snow. Otherwise, classic spring conditions prevail: start early and finish early.
Overall impression
Very nice solitary morning trip before work. Always nice to ski down to the green valley in spring in good snow!
