Snow condition

You can only see from the trees that before Monday it had been a long time before the winter. Now it's high winter again. No need to think about choosing a route, just let it go.

Snow quality

Another 10-15cm of fresh snow, probably at least 50cm since Monday, in places much more. soft base with fluffy to brittle fresh snow made for relaxed gliding and dusting up to the belly. a bit too settled and slow for constant face shots. it needs a certain steepness for sufficient speed. Not a 5* blower, but for me the best in the north so far this season.

Behind the edge of the terrain / ridge crest we saw on the south that the entire south/west side of the slope near the surface (presumably only the fresh snow) had probably fallen spontaneously. Above the tree line certainly critical. Sleet from time to time both today and on the previous days.

Overall impression

From 0 back to winter - even down at the parking lot at 1000m you couldn't get through with a stop-jump-turn next to the forest road. Hardly any caution necessary even in the forest. At the top on the north side, it's sure to be bombastic for a few more days. Still found untracked lines despite the rush on Modeberg. For me, the best day of the winter so far - and as it will probably be the last due to my baby, I'm giving it 5 stars today! I'm reconciled with the mixed season so far! That was just really great.
