Snow condition

You can only see from the trees that before Monday it had been a long time before the winter. Now it's high winter again. No need to think about choosing a route, just let it go.

Snow quality

Another 10-15cm of fresh snow, probably at least 50cm since Monday, in places much more. soft base with fluffy to brittle fresh snow made for relaxed gliding and dusting up to the belly. a bit too settled and slow for constant face shots. it needs a certain steepness for sufficient speed. Not a 5* blower, but for me the best in the north so far this season.

Behind the edge of the terrain / ridge crest we saw on the south that the entire south/west side of the slope near the surface (presumably only the fresh snow) had probably fallen spontaneously. Above the tree line certainly critical. Sleet from time to time both today and on the previous days.

Overall impression

Von 0 zurück auf Winter - selbst unten am Parkplatz auf 1000m kam man bei Stop-Jump-Turn neben der Forststraße nicht mehr durch. Selbst im Wald kaum Vorsicht notwendig. Oben nordseitig mit Sicherheit noch einige Tage bombastisch. Trotz Andrang am Modeberg noch unverspurte Linien gefunden. Für mich der beste Tag des Winters bisher - und da es wohl babybedingt der letzte sein wird, gibts heute die 5 Sterne! Ich bin versöhnt mit der bisher durchwachsenen Saison! das war einfach richtig fein.
