Exposition
Snow condition
The long-awaited and abundant snowfall after a long dry phase. Base still present from 1400 in the forest and shady areas on the south side. Up to 1200m on the north side. Fresh snow has set well with the base below.
Snow quality
Almost 1m of fresh snow in the past few days. Airy powder on north-facing slopes above 1800m. Slightly heavier below that. On south-facing slopes, firn and, depending on exposure and time of day, with a light covering of harsh snow.
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
South-facing slopes exposed to high solar radiation. Depending on the time of day, you can expect snow caps, especially in the morning hours. Dry above 2500. On the north and northeast side, drifting snow fields are to be expected in ridge areas. Especially at altitudes above 2500m the wind effect was considerable.
Overall impression
Due to the forecast warming in the coming week, snow conditions are expected to deteriorate at altitudes up to 2500m. Above that, however, very good snow conditions are likely to remain.
