Snow condition
The descent is still possible on forest paths down into the valley at 900m. But this will also deteriorate quickly in the near future. The snow conditions in the north-facing forests are pretty good, and downhill skiing is also possible in denser forests. The snow is probably at its highest level of the entire winter at the moment. It's a shame that you'll soon hardly be able to make proper use of the good snow conditions in the forest.
Snow quality
There was still really good powder snow in the north-facing forest today. A bit more settled than at the weekend, but still with good sinking depth and lots of face shots. Below around 1500m, the snow got a bit heavier on the north side as the day progressed. In the coming days, however, it will quickly deteriorate with the rising temperatures and sunshine as the snow falls from the trees.
Risks
Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)
Below the tree line, the avalanche danger is currently limited. It is currently relatively safe to be out and about in the forest. Due to the tense avalanche situation above the tree line, we have therefore also opted for a tour in the forest. Above the tree line, the situation looks much more tense. Due to all the fresh snow over the last 8 days, combined with strong winds, a lot of drift snow has formed.
Overall impression
Another really good day in the forest! This will probably have been the last treerun day of winter 2020/2021. But this one was enjoyed to the full again, skied up 3 times and made over 1600m. Found good powder snow in beautiful terrain. And if the boss asks why you can't be reached, you can tell him that you were in flight mode :)
