Snow condition
Just under three stars here. But not bad at all for the end of March in the Black Forest. The relevant tours > 1000 m are easily doable! Only on the Hüttenwasen was today probably the last day without skinning. From tomorrow it's time for a short carry :)
Snow quality
Super snow quality, still a bit hard tomorrow but due to the warmth and high sun around midday, almost all the north-facing slopes are slightly firn. Perfect! Only the upper part of the Zastler was still a bit hard, we were too early here.
Risks
Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)
No problem today, the greatest danger came from acute sunburn. The cornices are still clinging to the peaks. With the warming of the next few days, however, this could possibly change during the course of the day.
Overall impression
What a great day today on the Feldberg. Best T-shirt weather, great firn, still decent snow conditions and relatively little going on (especially compared to last weekend). I suspect that spring has finally arrived for the vast majority of people, and the Black Forest should be fine for another 2-3 weeks. Four subjective spring Black Forest stars!
