Ski tours near Hinterstein. Better than expected.

Snow condition

Still very good. From the Giebelhaus you can still set off on skis without any problems. On the forest roads, however, the snow is slowly becoming poor.

Snow quality

Better than expected, we even discovered a bit of powder snow, even if it wasn't quite as good. Otherwise, it was consistently firny and of course there was also a bit of wet snow at the bottom.

Daytime heating is probably the main problem. In some places it was so warm that a light cover formed, but this was only partially stable. Otherwise it was already slightly firny on the east side at 10 am.

Overall impression

Wir waren heute im Hintersteiner Tal unterwegs und hatten super Firn und sogar etwas Pulverschnee. Derzeit sollte man allerdings wirklich wirklich früh dran sein, da es Nachts einfach keine Minusgrade mehr hat und bereits um 10 Uhr aufzufirnen beginnt
