Covered shoes

more or less the same as before the March winter. Remnants of snow in shady valleys below 1000 m are more of a hindrance than a help when cycling uphill. then it starts to snow, only on the north side. on the west and east only from 1200+. above 1500 it is still quite usable in the northern sector, even through mountain pines you can still get through

Snow quality

1 von 5 Sterne

brutal training snow. the numerous old tracks were hard-packed right down to the smallest shred. the last turns were briefly slushy, but by then you were already at the end. at the top there was a slightly less ploughed slope, but even there it was hard and a bit of fresh snow alternated - challenging. All in all, rarely skied such difficult snow

Risks

Diurnal warming
Much water in the snow cover

Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)

the 1cm of new snow has unfortunately preserved the supporting hardpack all day, not just on the north side. so there is very little movement in the snow cover today. but you can see the effect of the temperature over the last week. One warm day is enough and everything slides again

Overall impression

Better

hoped for firn, got concrete and a pinch of bremslush. there have been better days this season. but so be it, schifoan is always leiwand and jumping around also needs to be practiced. at least there is still something going on with acceptable investment here in gau
