Snow condition
The summery temperatures last week really put a strain on the general snow situation. On the sunny side, the situation no longer looks inviting. You should keep a very close eye on terrain traps (streams etc.). The fresh snow is often covering up empty spots (e.g. sun-exposed paths). At 1100 m there was around 15 cm of fresh snow. Slightly increasing upwards to 20 cm+.
Snow quality
The quality was good and the fresh snow was easy to ski. Fortunately, the amount of drift snow was limited. The only thing that spoiled the downhill fun a little was the blow-through on the hard old snow cover. However, it was possible to reduce the blow-through by choosing the route carefully.
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: low
Risks
Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)
Watch out for drift snow.
Overall impression
This is how you imagine a day of touring: Alarm clock, check the measuring station and shortly afterwards the track work starts. Many thanks to the tracker from the second part of the ascent ;).
