Snow condition
The snow conditions here are still very good. It is still possible to ski down to the parking lot without any problems. Due to the north-facing exposure and the slope at the bottom, this will certainly remain the case for some time to come. In the cirque, you sometimes have to watch out for stones that have passed over. However, these are usually larger and clearly visible, but otherwise there are hardly any problems with stones.
Snow quality
As the season gradually draws to a close for ski tours at medium altitudes, there was some very nice powder today. Where it's sheltered from the wind, the powder is easy to ski and the hard base doesn't cause any problems. However, in places that have been blown off or near the crest, you notice old tracks or the hard (old) snow surface. The powder in the sheltered forest is also very good at the moment, although there was a little less fresh snow further down and therefore not quite as fine as in the cirque at the top.
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: low
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
There were no fresh avalanches to be seen, but you have to watch out for drift snow, especially in the terrain close to the crest. Up to just under 2,500 m, however, the drift snow intensity was rather low. On the south side, some wet and loose snow is sure to fall with the sunshine, so you should remain a little more defensive here, at least tomorrow, or pay attention to the daily warming and radiation. However, the rising temperatures and sunshine will of course also have the positive side effect of reducing the danger posed by drifting snow packs.
Overall impression
A well-used morning with a beautiful groove and untracked powder. You can't complain for mid-April, but the one or other südstau would certainly be nice again!
