Snow condition

Below the Bannalp (1600m) there is no need to think seriously about skiing. A solid base above that and with the last fresh snowfalls very good and still possible for quite some time.

Snow quality

Blower.... 15cm at the starting point and increasing significantly with every step. FIVE stars in the morning. Around noon the high fog moved in and below 2000m it became quite humid.

Fine powder on a compact base, all without wind. It could always be like this. In our couloir, we expected a lot of sluff to slide along, but that was hardly the case.

Overall impression

Was für ein unertwartet guter Tag auf der Bannalp. Blower vom feinsten - solchen Schnee fährt man nicht oft. Bin versucht die 5 Sterne zu zücken - aber aufgrund der Sonnen bzw durch den aufkommenden Nebel wurde weit hinauf alles feucht und wird morgen einen Deckel haben. Aber geschützte Nordseiten sind wahrscheinlich immer noch Weltklasse.
