Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Altitude
900 - 1700m
Avalanche warning level
moderate (2)
Exposition
Snow condition
From about 1000 m upwards, we were able to walk through today without having to carry our skis every now and then.
Snow quality
Departure on the east side at 8:30 am was more or less perfect today. You shouldn't ski down much later in this exposure and altitude. Unfortunately, there were already quite a few tracks and old avalanche nodules in the slope. However, with a bit of foresight you could still find something good. After the main descent, there was a mix of firn, broken snow and frozen snow. 3 stars at the top, 1 star at the bottom, making 2 stars.
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
Classic spring conditions, start very early and finish early. Daytime ascent from low to moderate.
Overall impression
A scenic tour in perfect weather in the Mangfallgebirge. If you start very early, you will be rewarded with a quiet ascent and good snow conditions. With the spring-like temperatures, you will soon be able to continue cycling.
