Snow condition
In the higher elevations, there is still an above-average amount of snow on the shady side. There's much less on the sunny side. Today we had an extremely long carry route on the SE side. Wherever possible, you should take the bike.
Snow quality
Actually, we got it mostly nice. Some very nice firn and fast summer snow. On the other hand, there were also some rougher wet snow descents and, unfortunately, braking at the bottom.
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
Usual spring situation. Pay attention to the diurnal cycle and be out of the sunny sides early. The dry and partly cool air is holding things back a bit.
Overall impression
A long tour in a great setting, good snow and great weather. But then you don't have to do such a long route. The many vertical meters of via ferrata were also quite challenging. If it doesn't get too warm, we'll still be able to do something at high altitudes for a while.
