Snow condition

Started from Realp at 1500m with the skis from the station and only took off for the hut beer. The last 100m to Engelberg up to 1100m on the north side you had to take off your skis once. So the conditions were still ideal and many things could still be started from the valley without too much effort. Steep descents very well snowed in.

Snow quality

During our 5-day tour we encountered all types of snow. Protected on the north side up to approx. 2300m still powder - in other expos depending on the time of day firn, wet snow, ice etc...

Relatively relaxed right now. Note the diurnal cycle, but no other observations made.

Overall impression

5 gemütliche Tourentage von Realp via Albert-Heim Hütte / Bergssehütte / Sustenpass / Sustlihütte nach Engelberg. 5 Tage Sonnenschein - Powderabfahrten, Firncruisen - angenehme Aufstiege. Viele neue Projekte gesehen und die Lust auf Touren nimmt nicht ab. Der Winter geht wohl noch ein Weilchen...
