Snow condition
Still good for the end of June outside of glaciers, and you can still set off from the road for at least a week. However, the possibilities are slowly becoming limited, you have to find your way through small hollows and cirques, ridges and sometimes even entire steeper sunny slopes are already completely snowed out.
Snow quality
Summer snow, meanwhile clear suncups make for a rather bumpy descent.
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
Avalanche danger manageable. The steep terrain has already been cleared, and without fresh snow it remains relaxed.
Overall impression
Despite the already limited possibilities on the Timmelsjoch and the diminishing snow, we still found something. Of course, everything was better, but at the end of June you don't want to complain. I think I can do another week without wearing anything, but you have to ask yourself whether the long journey and the toll for the road are worth it...
