Letzter Pow am Hochjoch - eines der besten Saisonfinale

Overall impression
Snow condition
In the last 2 days there has actually been some more snow. However, as most of the base had already melted away due to the spring, the snow cover is still very thin. Stones, bushes and the like are snuggling up to the ski base. But as the chamois were still standing on the thawed grassy slopes a short while ago, not much else was to be expected
Snow quality
After yesterday's wet concrete snow, there was a surprise today: the finest powder covered the old mass by around 20-30 cm. What a way to end the season. Best powder quality, fluffy and easy to ride, but the snow only became heavier and wetter quite quickly towards midday, especially in the lower areas.
Risks
The situation has deteriorated again since yesterday due to the fresh snow. According to the LLB yesterday, the fresh snow was well connected to the old snow, but this has probably worsened with the new snowfall. Numerous smaller slides and releases could be seen in the area, mostly in the transitions from far too little snow and behind crests. The fresh snow was also coming off the blasted areas. There were also isolated patches of snow down to the ground.
Overall impression
Another really good day in terms of snow at the end - only the poor visibility was a challenge. Sometimes everything was just white and foggy. But the advantage of the end of the season was clearly the empty ski area today - mega day! It's a shame that the Hochjoch is now over. Switching directly to biking will now be a bit more difficult with the new snow.
