Snow report Arlberg, 02/28/2014

Heute am Sonnenkopf unterwegs, aber leider ohne Sonne! Die Nebelbank war hartnäckig und es ging so gut wie gar nichts abseits der Pisten, da die Sicht gleich NULL war.

Snow condition

I would describe what I could see as below average. Basically, it's the same here as in many places in Vorarlberg: on the shady side above 1,500 m it's acceptable and on the sunny side the snow cover is very thin. Stone contact is almost unavoidable.

Snow quality

On the sunny side (I think) there's a nasty snow cover. The slopes on the shady side are still powdery and if there were no tracks, good descents would certainly have been possible if the visibility had been good.

Risks

> 2000 m level 2 below level 1. The current situation would certainly have allowed a lot, but the fog was too persistent. Our planned tour was not possible ...

Overall impression

1 von 5 Sterne

The fog was the fun factor today. Other sports would have been better ...

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
