30 cm fresh snow

Unfortunately, the snow conditions are still quite poor. You don't need to try anything in the forest yet, unfortunately there is still a lot of snow missing. At least above 1700m, there has been some old snow on the north side of snow tracks, but not much. It's enough for meadowy ground, but wherever the terrain becomes more uneven (tree stumps, stones, etc.) you still have to be careful. But it's enough for the odd nice turn or small pillow.

Powder snow

Cold temperatures, hardly any wind and a good amount of fresh snow result in really fine powder snow from top to bottom. As the fresh snow of the past 3 days (approx. 35cm at 2000m) has fallen on a soft layer of old snow on the north side, there is a good sinking depth, which does not only have advantages (see snow situation).

Risks

West North-West

Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)

The avalanche risk will probably increase significantly in the coming days with wind and fresh snow. The soft, built-up old snow cover on the north side is not a very good base. At least the fresh snow here was still without much wind influence, but we weren't far above the tree line either).

Overall impression

Equal

Made the most of the fresh snow and avoided the crowds. All in all, a nice Sunday tour! Unfortunately with the realization that the next snowfalls in the forest cannot be used due to the lack of a base and further up the avalanche danger will not allow any clever tours for the time being.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
