Snow condition
The snow conditions are quite good for the time of year. However, numerous terrain traps (streams, stones, hollows) are not yet sufficiently covered. The snow cover is quite inhomogeneous due to the influence of the wind.
Snow quality
Unfortunately, only around 10 cm came together on my trip today (10 cm+ towards the top). This was on a powdery surface and therefore went very well for riding. There was no penetration on a hard surface if you were halfway in an area protected from the wind.
Risks
Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)
Today I had a look at the entrance to a steeper north-east-facing gully, which was well filled with drift snow near the ridge, including small cornices. With one hit with the pole, about 20 cm+ slipped off and a crack formed on the side where nothing had slipped off. Unfortunately, the cell phone pictures are not good/useful. This confirmed my visual impression. Above the tree line, I would rate the LWS as "considerable", especially on steep terrain close to the ridge. On the meadow slopes, the situation was relaxed.
Overall impression
I was skeptical when I looked at the measuring station in the morning, as I had expected more fresh snow. Nevertheless, it was worth it as I was more or less on my own and the fresh snow was quite good thanks to the cold temperatures.
