Descent through forest

Still good snow conditions for the time of year and altitude. On the north side, you can also slowly try something in the forest, but there is too little base locally for real treeruns. A descent down to the valley is still possible through the forest with a little eye. If the fresh snow settles now, this is of course advantageous for the base in the forest

Powder snow

The fresh snow from Wednesday and last night provided a nice, soft 20 cm layer of fresh snow. In the lower part (up to approx. 1,800 m) you could still feel old tracks, which of course made the whole thing a bit rougher. From approx. 1,800 m, beautiful powder snow on a pleasant base. In the forest there was also good powder snow but no base, so we kept to other open slopes for 2/3 of the descents.

Risks

Old snow problem

Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)

No signs of fresh avalanches, although this statement cannot be generalized for the area due to limited visibility. With yesterday's wind, there may have already been snow drifts, but these were of minor importance in our area due to the lack of steepness. Mountain pines and contact with trees in the forest are probably more dangerous at the moment.

Equal

Nice afternoon in the forest in the Brenner region. About 20 cm of fresh snow on a more or less soft base was definitely worth skinning up 3 times today. The base in the forest is slowly building up, so the next snowfall from the south should bring a bit more.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
