As already mentioned in the last CRs, the snow conditions are actually quite good for the time of year. In the Brenner region, you can often find a good base and can actually ski down all the side valleys of the Wipptal to the various parking lots. In the denser forest, however, the base is still lacking, but things look better in open areas.

Powder snow
Wind drifted snow

Today we only skied in the whale area, where we found beautiful powder snow on a soft base. Little wind influence in the area, therefore really unbound powder. Light cover and little snow in sunny sections.

Wind drifted snow

North North-Eas

Intensity: low

Altitude: 1600 m – 1800 m

Risks

Cracking (When entering the snow cover)
North North-Eas North-West

Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)

Above the tree line there is still a lot of drifting snow, even at lower elevations there is sometimes wind influence, but not as much drifting snow. Potential sliding snow avalanches are particularly dangerous at low altitudes at the moment (see photo). Above the tree line, caution is still the order of the day, especially with the coming warm front...

Worse

Another beautiful day in the forest area in the Brenner region today. It's slowly becoming standard for me to take a look at the various side valleys there. In any case, I got some nice turns today, not quite enough for real face shots, but better than nothing! It will probably be much worse in the area from tomorrow. What's more, we didn't meet any other tourers all day and had the whole area to ourselves, which is something to be proud of.
