Snow report Stubai Valley, 12/14/2013
Nicht allzuviel Schnee, dafür ist er auch nicht gerade gut.

Overall impression
Snow condition
Quite moderate. Significantly better than further north, in many areas above 2500m it is quite possible to ride off the beaten track, even if much of it is simply completely blown off.
Snow quality
Mostly pretty bad. The almost 5 cm of fresh snow overnight didn't change much (optically at most). Even in blown-in areas, you can get through to the base everywhere. Unfortunately, this is completely hard almost everywhere (melt and wind harsh), as well as often heavily rutted. On higher shaded slopes you break through the crust, otherwise it is usually stable. Slopes that are protected from the wind and not yet rutted are reasonably ok. There you can have some fun on the hard base with a small layer of fresh snow.
Risks
Everything is quite hard, warning level 1, should be fine at the moment. The current snow situation is certainly more limiting than the avalanche situation. In many areas, however, a lot of deep frost has formed under the crust, which will probably be with us for quite a long time...
Overall impression
Well, at least the weather is good, and a bit of exercise doesn't hurt either...
