There are a few pockets that are easy to ski, especially in the northern exposure and covered by the strong north-westerly winds of the last few days. Otherwise, wind-packed snow and crushed slush.

Better

Ski touring in January with a forecast of 1: you can do a bit of that. Yes, quite a lot of alpinism, which is also fun (the north ridge of pazzolastock is in great shape), you have to be quite a lynx to ski and find terrain that is strictly north or was shielded from the northwest wind by domes or mountains. The north side of Cavradi is great and even better in the evening light. Outlook for the end of the week: snow is coming and the Oberalp Pass desperately needs it!
