Exposition
Snow condition
Still rather poor, enough for the gullies (not for all of them either). The rest of the terrain urgently needs more snow, especially on the south side. The local ski pros have probably already tried to ski a south-facing gully from the Axamer Lizum into the Schlick, but at the moment there's only broken snow to be found and the reward is a 500m descent on foot. On the south side, there are sections up to 1800m.
Snow quality
Good powder snow can only be found in areas sheltered from the wind, where the sun doesn't get in much and which are not north-facing (where there is wind pressure). Therefore, the conditions are rather difficult, but there is still good, settled powder snow. On all other slopes and exposures, there is either a lid from the wind or from the sun, which makes skiing there rather unpleasant.
Risks
Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)
The snow conditions are still stable at the moment, but will quickly deteriorate with the fresh snow and stormy winds.
Overall impression
Nice Sunday in the Kalkkögeln, where even a week after the last snowfall not all the gullies had been groomed (already). As a result, I still found first lines and powder snow, enough for 3 stars (although this is apparently also awarded for the worst broken snow and slope slides as long as the sun is shining).
