Exposition
Snow condition
Quite ok if it's not dense and rich in vegetation or south-facing. You can get down into the valley on all kinds of paths. The higher elevations look pretty blown out in places, but gullies and sheltered areas in the expos facing away from the wind should be quite full. Overall, we are now probably in line with the long-term average for the date.
Snow quality
The top 70 m or so were already warm, but still quite rideable, compact pow. Unfortunately, this was followed by a very braking section (1*). At the bottom, out on the narrow forest passages, then out like a slope and slushy in the sun, that was really cool again.
Risks
Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)
From my point of view, tomorrow's situation report would almost have been more appropriate today. In shady, sheltered, middle locations, the snow cover has warmed up but is compact and relatively stable. At the top, the storm has been raging over the last few days.
Overall impression
Come to think of it, htg_other from the Tannheimers has actually written everything you could say about our tour. The night is clear, there's going to be a good cover tomorrow. It's a shame that the powder fun was so short here, but at least there's now a base from 1000m upwards. And it's cool that it was worth it today after all.
