Exposition
Snow condition
from the top down to the village without touching the ground. The old snow surface is probably so hard that not a single stone or branch peeps through. Covered with mountain pines.
Snow quality
20cm of fresh snow and blown into hollows. unexpected!
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: no wind
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
The LLB is issuing a 3 for northern Valais today. Especially above 1800m expo northeast over north to southeast due to heavy drift snow accumulations.
Overall impression
The unexpected often happens. Today I took a lucky trip from the Lötschental towards the north-western Valais and found good runs in the forest as well as snow angels jumping out of the lift. The ground is not yet so snow-covered that you can't feel it, but it already feels like "powder" again. Marble run, side jumps in the forest. Above the tree line, the snow is blown in in phases, unbound drift snow. let's play and stay in thé forêt. the next few days will unfortunately be warm... good to have used the day. this year you never know when the next rain will come.
