15 cm fresh snow

I cycled up to 1200 m NE and even there you still have to be careful for 200 m, even if even thin layers of old snow under the fresh sugar still provide quite good protection. No problems above that. It's an advantage if you know the conditions before the snow falls. Stone skis would also have been useful at the bottom, but I'm someone who generally doesn't like descending. :) 5 cm at the bottom, max. 15 cm at the tree line. A sensible choice of tour is already clearly limited to snow-side and well-protected locations above 1400m.

Powder snow

What was that? Rarely have (max.) 10-15 cm of fresh snow felt so good. By far the best snow since the last significant snowfall and that was a very long time ago. Not deep and sometimes a bit compact, but with the soft, moist and grippy layer of old snow underneath, very smooth and fast. It's fast all the way down to the end of the rideable area.

Risks

North North-Eas

Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)

Main danger: contact with poorly covered obstacles. The snow cover is quite stable up to the tree line.

Better

Very nice, wintry day with less fresh snow than we had hoped for, but it was still great to ski. Unfortunately very little snow overall, even if you can really let it run in certain passages. It's been snowing since this afternoon, tomorrow and especially Monday (with visibility) would be peak days. No visibility above the outside of the forest. It makes sense to stay in the good range from 1400 m up to the tree line and climb up there several times.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
