Overall impression
Snow condition
At an altitude of approx. 1100 - 1800 m, it is excellent in all exposures. The best conditions for ski touring.
Snow quality
The quality of the snow is subjective. Above approx. 1700m, there is a lot of powder and only in places where there is no sun and protection from the wind. Above the tree line, almost everything is packed and there is a lot of fresh drift snow. Where the sun was, you'll find a stable cover, railroad snow and a light cover. Can change from one turn to the next.
Risks
At the start at approx. 1100 m it was already 8° at 8:00 am. The wind was moderate to strong. Due to the cloud cover, the radiation was only moderate. Large sliding snow avalanches have come loose from steep terrain (approx. 40° and more). There are still some sliding snow cracks that have not been discharged. The snowpack was weakened early on today, so we had to get off the mountain early again.
Overall impression
Nice tour in quiet surroundings. The storm was unpleasant and difficult to assess. Up the mountain early and down early.
