For the time of year, you can't complain. You can start from the valley and there is a good basis for the coming snowfall. In the valley there was about 15 cm and at the summit there was another 20 cm of settled powder on a compact base.

At the summit there was nice powder from the previous snowfall. Unfortunately Berwang didn't get as much fresh snow as other areas but the base is very good and for the time of year you really can't complain.

Risks

As I said, there wasn't as much fresh snow as in other areas, so you have to pay particular attention to the ground. Roots and tree trunks are the bigger problem right now. On the Alpkopf, the snow cover felt quite homogeneous and the snow cover made a compact impression. I didn't see any cracks or snow planks.

A leisurely ski tour in fantastic weather. The season in Berwang doesn't start for another 2 weeks, so we were able to enjoy the peace and quiet. There were also relatively few people out and about for a Sunday.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
