Snow condition

There is still plenty of snow between approx. 1400-2000m. In all exposures. Of course, purely southern sides are more affected by the melting. Some of it melted during the last warm period, but there is still enough left. Towards the valley (Mellau or Au) the snow decreases rapidly. Especially here in the Bregenzerwald, which is a typical accumulation area, there is still a lot of snow.

Rain up to 1700 m results in swamps in all expos from early in the morning. At the very top and on the shady side you can find creme brulee.

Risks

Very critical. First snow, then rain up to 1700 m and then a storm. There are losses in all expos. Sometimes very large. In the ski area and on the surrounding mountain slopes, self-releases are easy to find.

Overall impression

The snow conditions are still good. The quality off-piste was poor. If it gets cold now and the amount of fresh snow is right, then lots of powder runs are possible as the base is still excellent. Piste runs are more fun than exercise therapy at the moment.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
