There is a good layer of snow in the Karrinne, you can get down without any problems and without coming into contact with rocks. In the other gullies, you should know where there was enough old snow before the snowfall. It is still a bit rocky in places. It looks much worse on ridges in particular. The eastern slope also has good snow conditions, but further down it quickly looks worse. There is only fresh snow there. Skiing back up to the Seegrube and down with the gondola is therefore still highly recommended.

Powder snow

Fine powder snow in the morning, approx. 10-15cm of fresh snow overnight on a soft base. It's very nice to ski on, with a lot of sluff on the steeper terrain due to the powdery snow. As the day progressed, the snow became much heavier on the south side.

Risks

West

Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)

Slight signs of wind could be seen in the snow cover, some snow was transported by the westerly wind. In the steeper terrain, some loose snow slid along due to the powdery snow. Otherwise, no avalanche activity was observed below 2200m, at least on the south side.

Worse

Very nice day of touring on the Nordkette. As winter sports enthusiasts are not yet transported to the Hafelekar, you still have to work out your own lines and it's relatively leisurely. However, as everyone has skied up at least 3 times in today's conditions, a lot of terrain has already been tracked. But with the warm-up today, it probably won't be as rewarding tomorrow anyway.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
