Snow condition
Meanwhile the umpteenth restart this winter. Overnight there was around 35 cm of fresh snow, which rose to >40 cm in wind-protected corners as the altitude increased. Unfortunately, there was hardly any old snow left, so the fresh snow can only really be used in corners with a base. Streams and all terrain traps are not snowed in. Wind-exposed terrain is more or less snow-free. Where there was still snow, 2 stars, where there was a fresh start, 1 star.
Snow quality
The 2nd big surprise today (apart from the amount of fresh snow), the fresh snow was really fluffy to ride and there was a lot of dust. The temperature only dropped in the second half of the night.
Risks
Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)
Today, the main danger on the meadow terrain came from terrain traps, and that at the end of February (!). The wind transported the fresh snow into wind-exposed terrain. During the tour today, there was often sleet in the precipitation.
Overall impression
A somewhat surprisingly good powder day. And the 3rd surprise, there was virtually nothing going on for a week in the carnival vacations (for this we get the 4th star).
