Below average but enough to ski almost everything.
Snow quality
Lots of floating snow in the Canalone Huda Paliza! Very annoying on the ascent, but actually very nice to ski. The LLB forecast a soaking of the snowpack, but there was no sign of it, at least in the gully. Cold and pretty good to ski/swim.
Risks
Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)
Few signs of danger to be seen. There was no danger from wet avalanches from sunlit slopes. However, the floating snow represents a dangerously weak layer for the next snowfall. It probably developed to such an extent due to the thin snow cover and the cool temperatures in the gully.
Overall impression
Canalone Huda Paliza: the longest gully in the Julian Alps, 600 vertical meters and up to 50° steep in the upper part. I was initially reluctant to tackle this project in supposedly poor conditions, but we were surprised. The quality of the floating snow remains to be seen, but it was cold, fast and relatively homogeneous snow and was really fun on the descent. With great company and sunny weather, definitely 4****! I <3 Val Saisera!
