Snow condition

As usual, contact with rocks is to be expected. No exposure actually makes sense below 2000.

Snow quality

Above 2500m, where the sun doesn't burn in too steeply, the snow is very acceptable: a soft base and a few centimetres of powder on top. Everything else is complete swamp.

The moisture penetration is obvious. I can't say anything about the old snow problem.

Overall impression

It's always a big effort for the few worthwhile swings...
