Breakable crust
Wet snow
Powder snow
Wind drifted snow

Sunday a little worse as the wind was now coming in. The wet crust solidified as it cooled down, but was still brittle in places around 2000 and lower. Found some great powder on the north face again.

Intensity: low

Risks

Old snow problem
Cracking (When entering the snow cover)
Woom- or hissing noise
West North-West

Wind intensity: High (40 – 60 km/h)

In Unteralptal, the set-up on Sunday was not as good as on Saturday in Maighelstal. Despite the small scale. Booming noises on the ascent. Didn't get far up there because of the weather and the time.

Better

Then out to Andermatt today. Hiked over to Vermigel for reasons of tour aesthetics. Before that, I took advantage of the good weather window on Piz Borel and skied the beautiful slope. There is really good snow there. But Vermigel is a long way down. Then walked about 7km down to the station. It was a good walk. No more snow in sight on the road from 1700. That will probably change a bit, but there won't be much down there either. The Gotthard area has a good base at altitude. It will be good if the fresh snow settles there now.
